Point Loma Chapel

The small chapel project is designed to be a space for spiritual contemplation and meditation. The main feature of the chapel is the incorporation of the crown of thorns into the ceiling design. This element serves as the central focus of the space, drawing the gaze of visitors upwards towards the cross at the far end of the chapel.

The crown of thorns is incorporated into the ceiling design through the use of intricate, interwoven patterns that create a sense of movement and depth. As the natural light filters into the space, it reflects off of the ceiling and creates a sense of warmth and serenity.

The use of natural light in the chapel is an important aspect of the design. It serves to create a sense of peace and tranquility, helping visitors to feel connected to the natural world and to their own spirituality.

I focused on helping create the crown of thorns with the Digital team to ensure the vision was met and the fabrication was possible.
